A bizarre friendship between the brother of a murdered Sydney hitman and a flamboyant US makeup influencer has stunned the city’s underworld.
Walid Assaad, whose brother Hamad “The Executioner” Assaad was murdered in a gangland attack seven years ago, could be seen dancing wildly on TikTok live streams to entertain US-based social media millionaire Jeffree Star.
In return, the makeup magnate, who runs his own eponymous cosmetics company, is said to have gifted Assaad up to $40,000 a week last month in TikTok “diamonds” that can be converted back into cash.
Until Thursday, Assaad’s TikTok account WheresWallysWorld, which has more than 36,000 followers, used as its profile picture a photo of Mr. Star wearing a pink balaclava and a bio that read “STAR FAM” and two gold star emojis.
The close relationship, which has seen the pair spend hours online on TikTok livestreams, has stunned Sydney’s hypermasculine underworld fraternity.
“He belly dances for Jeffree,” said former Nomads bikie Moudi Tajjour, who used to chat with Assaad online. “Something is going on.
“I don’t know what you’re doing, Wally, but you sold your soul to the devil, brother.”

Assaad previously posted a video of himself with Comanchero boss Tarek Zahed, who lost an eye in another gangland attack that killed his brother Omar at an Auburn gym in May 2022.
Assaad, 35, has also had several run-ins with police in recent years and has been the subject of a firearms ban order since 2016.
He is currently accused of terrorizing his family at his mother’s home in Villawood, western Sydney, and allegedly turning on her and two other family members.
Fairfield Magistrates’ Court heard this week that he was accused of arming himself with a knife to intimidate three relatives at teatime at the family home in September 2022.
He is accused of actual bodily harm against Hamad Assaad and violent bodily harm against Basmat and Ahlam Assaad, the court announced on Monday.
The police have now used force against Assaad during arrests in order to protect the three family members from him after the incident.
However, he is also accused of breaching a DV-related AVO in Villawood the following day and then resisting arrest.
He was granted bail on Monday, with a ban on all alcohol and non-prescription drugs until the cases return to court in April 2024.
Police have issued another AVO against Assaad to protect his other brother Tarek after an argument broke out between the two in March this year.

And in 2022, Assaad accidentally livestreamed a brutal attack on him during a home invasion at his Georges Hall home in western Sydney.
He was knocked unconscious when armed thugs burst through the front door and held his girlfriend at gunpoint, ordering her to hand over cash before fleeing with armfuls of designer clothes.
Assaad was in the middle of a TikTok livestream with former gangster Tajjour when the attack happened, which left the reformed bikie speechless at the time.
Assaad returned to social media the next day, still dazed, injured and wearing a neck brace, vowing revenge against his attackers.
On his social media profile, he states that he is a personal trainer, and court documents indicate that he is “currently employed and his exact income is unknown” but owns his own home with a $2,000 mortgage per month.
“We used to be friends,” Tajjour admitted in a recent TikTok livestream. “I never hung out with him during the day, but we always went live.” [on TikTok] together.
“I had a bad feeling about this guy – then I saw those videos with Jeffree Star.”
“There’s no way Wally’s going to belly dance for Jeffree unless he’s secured a mansion somewhere.”
Several other TikTok accounts have posted clips of Assaad dancing for Jeffree and the couple giving each other “diamonds.”
One added the caption: “Australian TikToker Wally shows how far he will go for Jeffree Star’s gifts.” Others posted clips of the huge gifts given by Mr Star Assaad, with captions such as: “Jeffree Star falls at Whereswally.”
TikTok users can purchase coins with real money to exchange for diamonds, which they can then give away to other users during live streams. This involves 16,500 diamonds worth around $400, which can later be paid out via PayPal.

A follower added: “The ‘battles’ are just three minutes of banter or challenges or something similar between two TikTokers and the winner is the one who received the most gifts from viewers.”
“It’s money for nothing, so you have to wonder what’s going on in the offline conversations between Wally and Jeffree.”
Daily Mail Australia does not suggest that anything illegal is happening, but rather that the interactions have sparked interest and curiosity among followers and employees.

Assaad’s brother Hamad, who had the “executioner” tattooed around his neck and was blamed for a series of gang attacks, was shot dead in the driveway of his Georges Hall home in 2016.
His alleged murderers, Kemel “Blackie” Barakat and Mejid Hamzy, were later executed themselves.
