TV viewers have praised James Corden’s appearance on Vogue World last night after he returned to the UK from America.
The Gavin and Stacey star took to the stage to perform a comedy sketch alongside other A-list stars including Sienna Miller, James McAvoy and Damien Lewis.
The actors pretended to be ushers and told the audience that the event at the Theater Royal Drury Lane was over and that they had to leave as they began to clear away the rubbish.
However, the performance came under fire from viewers watching from home, with some posting on X, formerly known as Twitter, to express their distaste at seeing Corden on screen.
People claimed it ruined their view of the event, billed as Britain’s answer to the iconic Met Gala, and questioned why organizers had invited him.

Supermodels, acting legends, royalty and some of the biggest names in showbiz converged on the central London venue on Thursday.
The glittering, once-in-a-lifetime spectacle that kicks off London Fashion Week and is billed as a “multi-act celebration of the British performing arts” saw Rita Ora, Jodie Turner Smith and Winnie Harlow walk the red carpet – while Victoria Beckham walked through Stage slipped back entrance.
The event was only open to the rich and famous, with a ticket costing up to £2,521.70.
Outside, a line more than 500 feet long full of rowdy patrons snaked through London’s West End.
In a nod to the splendor of Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory, upon arrival guests were invited to drape themselves in Coach pashmina and enjoy a complimentary tequila from the bar.
Guests were presented with Estee Lauder lipsticks as a treat and invited to indulge in sorbet and licorice.

All in the name of fashion: Rita turned heads in her black fishtail dress with an exposed corset – but the dress proved difficult to walk in while Sienna flaunted her stomach

Posh: Victoria Beckham kept a low profile during her appearance at the Vogue party as she refused to walk the red carpet and preferred to slip on
Corden wasn’t the only performance of the evening to catch the attention of TV viewers, with fans also left stunned by the “bizarre” show, which began with Kate Moss, 49, doing an interpretive dance before Cara Delevingne dressed in the crowd showed up as a punk.
Supermodel Kate was first shown backstage in a chic outfit before walking through the wings of the theater as the show paid tribute to the theater artists for whom funds were being raised.
Then opera singers appeared in the crowd as Kate was shown on stage via a screen performing a bizarre interpretive dance beneath a black, transparent piece of fabric.
She waved her arms in the air as the fabric billowed above her before emerging from backstage and taking the stage before the second musical number.
Model Cara, 31, then appeared in the crowd wearing a colorful punk mohawk, a red striped dress and an oversized leather jacket.
She was seen cheering as she strolled between tables of celebrities during FKA Twigs’ performance, before jumping on stage to join the singer.
The pair then kissed before FKA was pulled away by dancers as she continued her performance before Stormzy took the stage for the third musical number.
One wrote: “Not sure what Cara does but I love listening to FKA Twigs.”
Another said: “Fka Twigs and Cara Delevingne kissing in Vogue World.” “Well that wasn’t on my bingo card for 2023.”
