An Aldi customer has revealed her effortless “trick” for supermarket shopping – although staff are divided over the trick.
Mother of three children Eden Kim took to TikTok to share how a laundry basket can be multifunctional — and made her shopping experience even better.
According to the content creator, using the basket allows her to skip the packing process when doing her family’s shopping.
The Michigan mother called the move her “favorite” way to shop at the popular grocery chain known for its low prices, no-frills design and lack of bags – and encouraged customers to bring their own bags or request reusable bags to buy at the cash register.

Eden says all you need is an empty laundry basket that can be placed at the bottom of the cart
“Aldi’s laundry basket shopping hack is one of my favorite hacks to use,” she begins the clip as she retrieves an empty basket from her car.
“All you have to do is bring a laundry basket and put it in the back of your cart,” the mom continued. “Then you do your shopping as usual and then ask the cashier to simply put your groceries directly in the shopping cart.”

According to the mom, this trick allows you to “skip the entire packing process.”
“I saw a video of this a few years ago and have been using it ever since!!” she wrote in the caption. “Makes my life so much easier.”
Although life may be easier for the mother of three, many TikTok users posing as Aldi employees said they weren’t actually allowed to pack items – and Eden was lucky her local Aldi did it for her.
“DON’T DO THIS!” urged one TikToker. “I worked at Aldi for years and this is a nuisance for SO many employees.” It slows us down. Then simply put it in the laundry basket.’
“As Aldi employees we’re not actually allowed to do that when checking people out.” “So you got lucky with your business,” another added.

She promises it will make things easier once you get home – although Aldi staff agreed not all of them had permission to make the hack easier for her
“If you grab a box while you’re there, it’s the same thing except you don’t have to remember the basket,” one person pointed out.
For some, it was more of a hindrance than a hack.
“But it’s going to be so hard,” one shopper complained. “I used to live on the third floor without an elevator and had to carry it up the stairs.”
But others were fans of sagging.
“I leave the basket in my car, load my cart and go to the checkout, put it back in the cart and unload it in the basket outside,” one said.
“As an Aldi employee I love this too and if it’s too hard that’s not my problem lol,” chimed in another.
