An angry “independent woman in San Diego” bragged about avoiding riding the bus for more than a week and became enraged at security when she was approached on board a bus, a new video shows.

Video uploaded to Reddit shows the dramatic argument between a passenger on bus 235 from Escondido to San Diego and transit security.

The woman shouted at the workers who confronted her for not paying the bus fare.

She revealed to the two security guards: “I’ve been doing this for the last week and a half because I’ve been telling everyone twice a day that I can’t afford to pay my damn fare.” I’m an independent woman in San Diego, so damn it.’

Bus fare for the San Diego Metropolitan Transit System is $2.50 one-way or $6 for a day pass.

The San Diego bus system offers reduced fares to seniors, Medicare recipients, people with disabilities and riders ages six to 18.

In the video, the woman repeatedly said, “I’m just trying to get home from damn work.”

She told security officers, “I’m not getting off the damn bus.”

“Do you want to fight this battle with me?” she asked her. “I tried to be nice and look at it.”

“I’m autistic – I’m smarter than you. ‘I can manipulate you out of the situation.’

The passenger yelled, “I can’t afford to pay my damn fare because I’m an independent woman in San Diego, so fuck you.”

“You could have just been nice.” “You could have just been nice at first, but you wanted to be ad*ck,” the unknown driver told them.

“I was minding my damn business,” she said, adding, “Obviously you’re not a good person.”

“Go away – I don’t want you so close to me,” she claims.

Other passengers on the bus didn’t get involved in the drama and sat quietly, minding their own business.

The video did not show any resolution or end to the emotional outburst, but after the video went viral on Reddit, the person who recorded the video shared with his viewers how the debacle ended.

According to the video poster, the incident ended with the “good cop” telling her to take the next bus and she getting off.

Fare violations on the San Diego Metropolitan Transit System can result in fines, court hearings or community service, according to the website.
