A three-legged bear broke into a Florida family’s porch and settled in by eating some hard soda and fish treats.
Joseph Diglio, 13, was watching TV at his family home in Lake Mary, Fla., on Sunday afternoon and heard his dog Bruno barking. Shortly thereafter, he discovered a three-legged bear that had broken into Florida.
Josaury Faneite-Diglio, Joseph’s mother, received a security camera alert around 5 p.m. and saw Tripod sauntering around her driveway and approaching the family’s pool.
Tripod eventually got into the house by ripping a huge hole in the patio umbrella and using three white claws. Mango and strawberry are his favorites, Faneite-Diglio said.
‘Oh dear God. “I’ve never been this close to a bear,” the teenager is heard saying in the video.

“When I saw him opening the refrigerator, I was afraid that he would open the doors to the houses,” said Diglio WESH.
Diglio captured the entire incident on camera. He said this was the second time a bear had breached their patio screen.
“Honestly, it’s just part of living where we live,” said the 13-year-old.
Bruno’s barking finally scared the bear away. Reporters who visited Diglio’s house found only the hole in the porch the bear made to break into.
The family said Tripod was a “popular” member of the neighborhood.
“I wasn’t scared because we know the bear really well.” He lives here; “We respect their habitat as much as we can,” Faneite-Diglio told WESH.
The three-legged bear wandered around the driveway of the family home and approached the pool.

Bears are not an uncommon creature in Florida, as there were around 4,050 in the state as of 2016 the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
Dailymail.com reported on a family who were chased back into their home by a bear while walking their dog in Apopka, Florida last year, a month after another couple in the same area had a similar encounter had.
The commission said it receives up to 6,000 bear-related calls annually. The agency added that in over 50 years, only 15 incidents have been reported in which people have suffered moderate to serious injuries related to a bear encounter.
Also, people are advised to remove or store any food, including animal feet, bird seed, and trash, outside of homes to avoid attracting bears.
There is also a way to avoid conflict between dogs and bears: knock on your door and turn the lights on and off in the house to get rid of the foster bear. When a dog and a bear fight, the bear will most likely be put off by noise and the use of bear spray or a water hose.
