A 58-year-old woman from Tennessee has set the record for the world’s longest mullet, which is almost the size of an average man.
Tami Mani’s long, flowing auburn curls are an amazing 1.70m long.
A mullet is defined as a hairstyle that is “short at the top and long at the back” and is commonly referred to as “business hairstyle in the front and party hairstyle in the back”.
Manis, who is from Knoxville and works as a public health nurse, said she hasn’t cut her hair in 33 years and has had the hairstyle since the 1980s BBC reported.
The inspiration for the style was the music video “Voices Carry” by the American rock band “Til Tuesday,” she said.
In 2024, their mullet is included in the Guinness Book of Records 2024.

“Til Tuesday” singer Aimee Mann sports a platinum blonde spiky hairstyle in the music video that Manis loved.
“The girl had a rattail and I really wanted one of these,” she told the Guinness World of Records, the news outlet reported.
All the rage in the 1980s and early 1990s, the mullet hairstyle was sported by musicians, actors, and others including Patrick Swayze, Billy Ray Cyrus, and Mario Lopez.
Manis said the last time she cut her hair was in 1989 and she immediately regretted it. Her hair hasn’t come anywhere near a pair of scissors since.
Her new world title isn’t Manis’ first win, in 2022 she finished second at the US Mullet.
