House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer is threatening to arrest FBI Director Chris Wray for contempt of Congress for failing to turn over an internal document that Republicans say shows President Joe Biden was involved in a “criminal “ Plan was involved with a foreigner.
The internal, unclassified FD-1023 form appears to describe an “agreement” to exchange money for policy making, Republicans said.
If Wray does not submit the transcript by May 30, the committee will begin a contempt proceeding.
In a letter to Wray Wednesday, Comer wrote that he also limits the scope of the subpoena for the document by listing two additional terms that may be referenced in the transcript: “30. June 2020” and “five million”.

“The FBI’s refusal to produce this single document is crippling,” he writes.
“The FBI’s mission is to protect the American people.” “Releasing confidential source information could potentially jeopardize investigations and put lives at risk,” the FBI said in a statement to DailyMail.com.
“The FBI remains committed to fulfilling congressional oversight requests on this and other matters, as we have always done.”
Associates of Comer, who is leading the investigation into the first family’s “tampering,” met with officials at the bureau on Monday, who refused to release the file.
Monday’s meeting came after House Speaker Kevin McCarthy said over the weekend that the FBI is ready to turn over the potentially damning document.
McCarthy said he spoke to met with Wray last week and believed Republicans would “get this document” after their talk.
“I explained to the director that we will do everything in our power and [that] “We have jurisdiction over the FBI — that we have the right to see this document,” McCarthy said.
However, Wray has not yet handed over the document – there is no initial deadline to comply with a May 10 subpoena.
A spokesman for the Democratic Committee told DailyMail.com on Wednesday that Comer was basing his claims on a “baseless tip” and accused the leader of using “political theater” to bolster former President Donald Trump’s poll numbers.
The FBI’s latest blockade also came after a second IRS whistleblower came forward and claimed he had been disbarred from the Hunter-Biden investigation for speaking out about the president’s son getting preferential treatment.
The investigating officer, who has not been identified, says he was fired without reason last week after working on the Hunter Biden investigation since 2018, according to documents sent to congressional leaders by DailyMail.com on Monday.
This is the second whistleblower who has commented on this topic in the last few days. According to the documents, he briefed Congress last week on the backlash he had suffered over his whistleblowing role and alleged unfair retaliation.
Last Thursday, he emailed Senior IRS Commissioner Daniel Werfel and several other officials, claiming he had been fired for raising concerns that the Justice Department “acted improperly” in its investigation into the president’s son ” have.
His complaint comes days after the Justice Department fired the entire team investigating Hunter Biden’s tax returns, according to attorneys representing a first whistleblower from the regulator.

Grassley, R-Iowa, and Comer, R-Ky., announced May 3 that a whistleblower had made startling allegations about the document, which they believe intrigued Biden when he was vice president and did not name one said foreigners set out nationally.
Grassley said that while the FBI did not provide the document, it did offer a “reconciliation process” that suggests the “document is genuine.”
Iam Sams, White House spokesman for oversight and investigations, called Republicans’ subpoena for the document “baseless” and “politically motivated.”
“For the past five years, Republicans in Congress have accused us of unfounded, politically motivated attacks [President Biden] without providing evidence to support their claims. Or evidence of decisions influenced by something other than US interests,” he claimed.
