A WWE-themed action figure of well-known West Ham fan Chris Knoll – better known as Knollsy – has sold on eBay for over £6,000 after he showed his bravery battling AZ Alkmaar’s crooks and bidders sought to take the doll home.

Knollsy became an overnight sensation after he almost single-handedly fended off thugs trying to break into the seating areas where the partners and children of West Ham players sat during their Europa Conference League semi-final game.

The father-of-four, nicknamed the ‘Angel of Alkmaar’ after stemming the tide of Ultras, was then immortalized in the form of a custom-made doll covered in bruises.

Fittingly, the person responsible for putting the character together admitted that it was inspired by Knollsy’s very own action hero-like exploits in Holland.

The bid started at £20 on Monday but surged past the £100 and £1,000 milestones over the course of the week. This morning, the The winner was successful with an amount of £6,000with all bids over £1,000 received this morning.

A total of 58 bids were received for the item, with a flurry of stunning offers driving up the final sale price before the deadline this afternoon.

The seller of the one-off doll explained the meticulous process that went into its design.

“Knollsy Custom Figure,” read the description. “I was inspired to create this bespoke and hand-painted figurine with unique matching packaging.” Took approximately 28 hours to complete and will look great on display. It is an absolute one-off.’

The figurine shows Knollsy in identical clothing as the night he was filmed clashing with Alkmaar supporters. The immaculately detailed doll is completed with a screaming face, clenched bloody fists and a bruised face.

The packaging, meanwhile, featured the West Ham badge, pictures of Knollsy in action in the melee and a close-up shot that showed a purple tint around his eyes.

Fittingly, Knollsy was given a hero’s welcome after appearing in West Ham’s 3-1 win over Leeds just days after beating the Masked Thugs in Alkmaar.

He received a standing ovation at the London stadium and took countless photos with the fans on the ground, although showing off his serious injuries.

He was later touched, visibly emotional, by a video of a large group of West Ham faithful outside a nearby pub chanting “Knollsy is huge wherever we go”.

This week Mail Sport revealed he had been rewarded with a ticket to West Ham’s first European final in 47 years after the club made contact with him.

Knollsy revealed he was almost in tears when he heard the news, which followed a request from Mail Sport to the Premier League side.

“I’m at work and when I got the call today I almost cried,” he said. ‘I’m so pleased, so happy.’ I’m made up.’

He added that a club official he met during the game against Alkmaar called him personally after seeing firsthand his attempts to protect fans.

“She said she was sitting two rows behind me and saw what happened,” he explained. “She said I was very brave and deserved a punishment.”

“It’s ironic that she was the one who called me today.” I remember joking with her earlier about whether she could get me a ticket if we made it to the final.

“I know how difficult it is to get a ticket. I’m so happy about it.’
