The senior police officer who verbally abused the 95-year-old grandmother faces three charges as police wrap up their investigation
The senior police officer who verbally abused 95-year-old great-grandmother Clare Nowland is expected to be charged by homicide detectives on Wednesday night.
Ms Nowland, a dementia patient who weighs just 43kg, had a steak knife in hand as she “slowly” approached a police officer at Yallambie Lodge in southern New South Wales just after 4am last Wednesday.
Chief Constable Kristian White, 33, then shot Ms Nowland with a taser, causing her to fall to the ground, hit her head and suffer a brain haemorrhage. She is being cared for in the hospital at the end of her life.
Now, 2GB host Ray Hadley has announced that White will be charged in the incident tonight following the conclusion of the investigation.
He faces three charges, with the minor assault being the minor.
Clare Nowland is now being treated at the end of life at Cooma District Hospital in southern New South Wales after being verbally abused by an officer early Wednesday morning
