In style Nollywood actress, Jennifer Eliogu, mentioned she fell out of favor together with her father after he determined in opposition to her will to pursue an appearing profession.
The film star made the revelation in a latest interview with media persona, Chude Jideonwo.
Within the interview, Jennifer shared that she grew up in a strict family and her father had supposed for her to turn out to be a lawyer. Nevertheless, whereas attending faculty in 1997, she chanced upon appearing and was interested in it.
Reflecting on her journey, Jennifer mentioned:
“I didn’t come out to search for films, I simply stumbled into it [movie industry]. A pal of mine, Princess Babiana… My dad was very strict rising up. We hardly exit, so we had our playground in the home. He doesn’t like guests. So, we solely exit when he’s out of city.
“He prefers we’re associates with individuals he is aware of their dad and mom so he is aware of that whenever you go there, you’re snug. So, my dad and her dad had been associates. And he or she came visiting and she or he was going for [movie] rehearsals. So, I was like, okay as a result of it’s her and my dad was out of city, I may go. So I adopted her.”
The actress revealed that it took her father a while to come back to phrases together with her profession selection and their relationship suffered in consequence.
“He was tough. He didn’t even wish to hear it. I was already doing diploma in UniJos. My dad all the time needed me to be a lawyer. He felt that I was going to be an excellent lawyer. It induced an entire lot of issues and my mum was on the receiving finish. He stored saying, ‘is that this what you actually wish to do? If something goes fallacious, you’ll not forgive your self.’ And I was like, ‘I’m certain, that is what I actually wish to do.”
“It took a very long time, very very long time. I stopped being his woman. And you recognize what, I stopped going to high school. He was like I’m not going to pay your college charges.” She added.
