Manchester City striker Erling Haaland appears to have inadvertently started a new trend as a particular photo sent Y-Fronts sales skyrocketing.
Haaland was pictured alongside Noel Gallagher in City’s dressing room after his side’s win over Arsenal on April 26, but posed with the rock star in his trousers.
Curiously, demand for the small parts has surged since the picture surfaced on social media, leading to a whopping 45 percent jump in sales.
The bosses of TOFS, a discount department store chain with over 200 locations across the UK, announced that the shelves have been “cleared” thanks to Haaland.
In fact, when analysts searched for the “hottest” items, Y fronts topped the list.

The superstar is very careful about his diet and sticks to a strict regimen on and off the pitch
TOFS’ Chief Merchandising Officer has revealed the extent of Haaland’s influence.
“Y-fronts have historically faced stiff competition from boxers, but Haaland has reignited interest in this traditional men’s staple,” said Tracy Ford.
Haaland, 22, openly wore the classic underwear earlier this season, forcing fans to look the other way. He posed for the photo in his rolled-up Calvin Kleins while holding a signature spinach and kale milk smoothie.
Gallagher later shared an insight into his conversation with the in-form frontman.
“I was just in the dressing room with him and he’s like a little kid,” he said.
“He walks around in his underpants and tells me he can’t wait for me to meet his uncle, who I’ve never met.”
“He’s disappointed he didn’t score a hat-trick.” He’s like a big, crazy kid. “He’s an incredible footballer.”
Haaland’s questionable choice of underwear is the latest example of his bold, outlandish style. He had previously abandoned his strict healthy diet.

The 22-year-old also revealed that he only drinks water through a complicated filter system
To stay in top shape, the ace burns 6000 calories a day and feeds on the cow’s heart and liver. Also, he only drinks water through a filtration system and makes sure he gets exposure to sunlight in the morning to support his “circadian rhythm.”
He also regularly takes ice baths and filters out blue light to improve his sleep.
So far this season, the red-hot Haaland has scored 52 goals in 49 appearances and helped put his side on the brink of a sensational treble.
City only need one win to win the Premier League while they have reached both the Champions League and FA Cup finals.
