California Congressman Eric Swalwell is being threatened with execution by former 49ers fullback Bruce Miller, while the former presidential candidate says he is “deeply disturbed” by the incident.

California’s 14th congressional district representative, Eric Swalwell, appeared to have received death threats from former 49ers fullback Bruce Miller, according to a screenshot he shared on Twitter.
On Thursday afternoon, Swalwell received a threatening message from an account apparently owned by Miller, who played six seasons in the NFL.
‘Almost time! “Would you rather have Guantanamo or just the execution,” the report said. “damned traitor.”
The account has more than 54,000 Twitter followers, including the NFL.
But Swalwell seemed unfamiliar with the former 49er.
‘Who is this guy threatening me with execution?’ And how come he has so many followers?’ Swalwell captioned the screenshot of the message.

Accordingly NBC Bay AreaSwalwell informed Capitol Police of the threat, saying, “My family and associates are deeply disturbed by the threat of execution … apparently by former 49er Bruce Miller.”
“Threats of political violence are unacceptable.”
If Miller were arrested for what he said, it wouldn’t be the first time he’s run into trouble from law enforcement.
In 2015, he destroyed a woman’s cellphone and did not invoke an anti-peace misdemeanor. The following year he was arrested for assault and elder abuse.
Miller, a seventh-round draft pick in 2011, played with the 49ers from 2011-15 and returned for a stint with the Jaguars in 2020.
