Gary Lineker will NOT present BBC coverage of tonight’s FA Cup clash between Brighton and Grimsby after struggling with his voice on Saturday before it “deteriorated overnight” – with Alex Scott replacing him

Instead, Alex Scott will present the game from the AmEx on Sunday afternoon

Gary Lineker will be absent from the BBC’s FA Cup on Sunday after struggling with voice problems.

Lineker was due to moderate the channel’s live coverage of the Brighton-Grimsby clash on Sunday afternoon.

However, he did noticeably struggle with his voice during Saturday’s Manchester City-Burnley game and has pulled out of Sunday’s plans after his voice deteriorated overnight, according to the BBC.

The match will instead be moderated by BBC colleague Alex Scott.

As viewers noticed yesterday, Gary Lineker had problems with his voice which unfortunately got worse overnight.
