Cleveland Browns are strengthening the defensive line by “agreing deals with tackles Trysten Hill and Maurice Hurst” after recently signing Ogbonnia Okoronkwo and Dalvin Tomlinson

Browns general manager Andrew Berry added two more defensive plays and agreed to contract terms with free-agent tackles Trysten Hill and Maurice Hurst.

Both players will be given one-year contracts, said the person, who spoke on condition of anonymity as the Browns have not announced the agreements.

The Browns believe they improved their free hand defensive line by adding pass rushing end Ogbonnia Okoronkwo, tackle Dalvin Tomlinson, Hurst and Hill.

Cleveland’s defense was volatile last season and played a major role in the team’s 7-10 finish.

Hill has been held back by injuries since he was drafted by Dallas in 2019. The 6-foot-3, 308-pounder spent last season with the Cowboys and the Arizona Cardinals.

In 13 games last season, he had a total of 12 tackles and a sack.

The Browns are hoping he can add depth to them in the forward rotation.

Hurst, who played college ball at Michigan, has also been injury-prone in recent seasons.

The 6-foot-2, 290-pounder has played in just two games in the last two years due to leg injuries and a torn bicep.

He last played for the 49ers in 2021 and did not play in the 2022 season.

The Browns also made their signing of safety Juan Thornhill official. He gets a three-year, $21 million deal after leaving the Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs.
