Forget all the criticism of Boris Johnson’s proposed knighthood for his father Stanley, nobody deserves it anymore, claims the ex-PM’s sister.
“My father did more to deserve an honor than anyone on the previous honors list,” journalist Rachel Johnson tells me at the Pol Roger Duff Cooper Prize ceremony at a club in St James’s, London.
“He has worked for the Tory party since 1969.
“He has improved our natural environment and done more to protect nature and animals than anyone else in Parliament.”
The alleged inclusion of Stanley on his son’s roll of honor has raised eyebrows.

But Rachel says, “If he’s not eligible for a knighthood because his son was prime minister, then the honor system is even crazier than we know it.”
Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, who designed floors for Buckingham Palace, sympathizes with King Charles as he plans the coronation. “Speaking myself as the patriarch of a big wayward family, it’s a bloody minefield,” the 57-year-old “Locker Room” star tells me. “I would expect my entire family to be there, including my naughty, estranged son and his American wife.”
Speaking at the premiere of The Great British Bake Off Musical at the Noel Coward Theater in London’s West End, he added: “The late Queen ran such a stern ship. But throughout history they have [the Royal Family] always misbehaved. It’s nice to be back in the days of the Regency when everything was a bit naughty.’

“It’s what TikTok wants you to look like with a ‘magic filter,’” she says. ‘Absolutely scary. My heart sinks when I think of all the young girls out there who are being exposed to this.’
Ben Fogle has revealed his son Ludo, 13, is dyslexic just like him – but thankfully doesn’t suffer in the same way.
“When I was young, dyslexia was not diagnosed and therefore interpreted as stupidity,” says the 49-year-old TV adventurer.
“I’ve seen a lot of red ink on my essays screaming ‘stupid.’
‘Things have changed. Ludo is poetic, creative, and lyrical with his words, but his spelling is charmingly bad; it looks like gobbledygook. His teachers don’t want to stifle or stifle his creativity, so just mark a handful of misspellings.
“When I was a boy, the blob of red ink threatening to absorb the whole page was soul crushing.”
Former BBC breakfast presenter Louise Minchin has taken seriously her duties as jury chair for this year’s Women’s Prize for Fiction.
‘I was thrilled as Kate Mosse [founding director] asked me because now I don’t have to go to bed early, I don’t make breakfast,” she tells me. “I read late into the night and all the books are crazy.
“Books accompany me everywhere. In fact, every one of the 16 on the longlist fell into the bathtub.”
When she’s not reading, Louise is training for her first London marathon next month.
