Battle lines have been drawn between Rebel Wilson and Meghan Markle after the Australian comedian called the Duchess “not naturally warm”.
The Bridesmaids star, 43, opened up about her “awkward” meeting with the Sussexes on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen last week and said Prince Harry “couldn’t have been nicer” but his wife seemed frostier.
While Rebel said she’s not exactly sure why Meghan, 41, was so cold towards her, Eagle-Eyed fans think they may have found the answer.
Footage has resurfaced of the Bridesmaids star poking fun at Harry and Meghan’s 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey while he was hosting the BAFTA awards last year.
Rebel said in the video: “Our next package is for Outstanding British Film. From drama to horror to fantasy, Harry and Meghan’s interview with Oprah had it all.’

The camera then panned to the celebrity-filled audience to reveal actress Emma Watson gasping in shock at the joke.
“Unfortunately, this isn’t nominated in this category, but some incredible films are. Let’s take a look at some of this year’s top British films,” she added.
During their bombastic Oprah interview, Harry and Meghan accused an unnamed member of the royal family of racism and suggested they asked “how dark” their baby would be; claimed they were driven out of Britain in part by racism; and accused palace staff of not supporting Meghan when she was “suicidal”.
It’s unclear if Rebel met the Sussexes before or after her BAFTA speech; However, that hasn’t stopped fans of Harry and Meghan from speculating that their joke was to blame for their awkward encounter.

“I’m so confused by this woman? If I remember correctly, Rebel Wilson spoke badly about Meghan at the BAFTAs – and then expected her to be warm and friendly? another wrote.
Days before the BAFTAs were hosted, Rebel had made another joke about Harry and Meghan during an interview with This Morning host Alison Hammond.

During the chat, a clip from Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story was played showing a performance of the song America with the lyrics “I like to be in America / Okay by me America”.
“Meghan and Harry’s new theme song,” Rebel joked afterwards, referring to how the couple had stepped down as working royals and moved to California.
During her interview with WWHL last week, Rebel revealed that she and her mother Sue Bownds were introduced to the royal couple by a mutual friend.

Rebel said while Harry “couldn’t have been nicer”, Meghan “wasn’t that cool”.
“Meghan wasn’t that naturally warm,” she added.
However, Rebel admitted that Meghan’s frosty demeanor may have been due to her mother asking her some personal questions.
“My mom, who’s Australian, used to ask her all these slightly rude questions like, ‘Where are your kids?’ and stuff like that,” she said.

“Maybe that’s why she said, ‘Who are these pesky convicts from Australia?’ I say, “Mom, don’t ask her that,” she joked.
The clip of Rebel’s WWHL interview has since gone viral on social media, prompting fans to take on Meghan’s defense.
“Rebel Wilson decided she wanted to create drama by making this comment that Meghan wasn’t as naturally warm to my mother as Harry was when she should have started by saying my mother was rude to Meghan,” one wrote.

Many pointed out that Rebel had previously been criticized for partying with fiancée Ramona Agruma just weeks after welcoming their first child Royce Lillian as a surrogate last November, so she shouldn’t have laughed at her mother’s insistent question .
