One of Magic: The Gathering’s most popular formats for casual players, Commander (or Elder Dragon Highlander, EDH) offers a unique experience that can be enjoyed by groups of players of all skill levels. Wizards of the Coast is about to release a new product specifically for EDH, Commander Masters. This gives you a little taste of the maps included in Commander Masters.
Commander is a format in MTG that requires players to construct unique 100-card decks, limited to a single copy of each non-baseland card. These decks are led by a legendary creature that acts as the deck’s commander and dictates which colors may be used in the deck.
WOTC has released several “Masters” sets for Magic over the years. These sets tend to primarily contain reprints of old, powerful cards, as well as new cards designed to be their level. These sets are designed to improve the format and make powerful cards more accessible to players.
Currently, only three Commander Masters maps have been officially spoiled: Jeweled Lotus, The Ur-Dragon, and Capture of Jingzhou. The only other details about the cards included in the set can be gleaned from the four preconstructed decks in the set:
