Kylian Mbappe has insisted he is ‘very happy’ despite ongoing speculation about his future at Paris Saint-Germain.
The forward dismissed suggestions that his future at the club is linked to PSG’s progress in the Champions League.
As reported by Marca, Mbappe said: “It’s a privilege for me to play here. I’m from Paris and being at PSG is special. I came when I was young and have grown and matured a lot on and off the pitch ever since.
“I do not believe that. If I tied my future to the Champions League and I didn’t want to disrespect the club, I would have come a long way! I’m here and I’m very happy and right now all I can think of is to make PSG happy.”
Mbappe became PSG’s all-time top scorer on Saturday when he scored late in the win against Nantes.

Mbappe surpassed Edinson Cavani’s tally with his 201st goal for the club.
Mbappe revealed he hopes to have his next three goals saved for the second leg of the Champions League round of 16 against Bayern Munich.
PSG go into the game 1-0 down from the first leg but Mbappe stressed it was important his side believed they could prevail.
He said: “Did I save destinations 202, 203 and 204 for Wednesday? Yes I hope so! We travel with the intention of winning and qualifying. We have to go into the quarter-finals with determination and confidence.’

PSG were eliminated by Real Madrid in the round of 16 last season and were previously beaten in the semifinals in 2021 and the final in 2020.
Mbappe is determined to win Europe’s elite club competition but PSG still have work to do if they aim to finish in the last eight.
Real Madrid have often been linked with a move for Mbappe and there have been indications this season that he has a difficult relationship with team-mate Neymar.
However, Mbappe will be determined to end the season strong as he aims to help PSG end the wait for Champions League glory.
