The road to motherhood has been bumpy for Erin Andrews.
The former “Dancing With the Stars” host and her husband, Jarret Stoll, have been trying to conceive a child through IVF for nearly a decade — but have not given up hope.
“It’s not easy. It’s been one of the most challenging things in my life, and I know in my husband’s life as well,” Andrews, 44, told Us Weekly in an interview published Tuesday.
“I’m doing OK. We’re doing well.”
While the couple — who tied the knot in 2017 — have dealt with a lot of heartache over the past couple years, the sportscaster says she’s come out of it stronger than ever.

“I can take about 50 needles in my stomach and just handle it better than my husband ever could,” she joked of the 40-year-old hockey star. “You know that you’re strong and that you can deal with it and it will get better.”
And yet, on days when Andrews isn’t feeling her best, she leans on her husband and closest friends for support.
“Finding humor in it and finding comfort and being vocal with it about your friends [helps]. Because a lot of times they don’t know how to bring it up,” she explained. “They don’t know if you’re going through a bad day or a good day. A lot of times I’ll just be like, ‘Yeah, this sucks,’ or, ‘This is awesome, we got great news.’”

Despite the challenges, Andrews hopes by sharing her story other women might feel less alone.
“I know for a while my husband … was like, ‘Why do you have to be so open about it?’ But once you are, you realize so many people are dealing with the same thing,” Andrews continued.
“Do I need to put everything out there? Probably not. But if I can give comfort to other people and bring things up in a discussion where people feel a little easier about bringing it up or talking about it, maybe we could start support groups or foundations for it. It’s just nothing to be embarrassed about, especially when so many people are going through it.”

The broadcaster first got candid about her IVF journey on her blog, “The Real Deal with Erin Andrews,” in August 2021.
At the time, Andrews was balancing “working up to 14 hours a day” while also going through the “time-consuming and emotionally draining process.”
“This is my seventh one, and I’ve been going through these treatments since I was 35 years old,” she said, noting that her age makes the process even more difficult.

“You feel bloated and hormonal for a week and a half,” she explained. “You could go through this whole experience and get absolutely nothing out of it — that’s the crazy part. It’s a ton of money, it’s a ton of time, it’s a ton of mental and physical anguish. And more times than not, they’re unsuccessful.”
Andrews and Stoll started dating in 2012. The NHL star popped the question four years later.
