Knife rampage on a German train, killing two and injuring several
Two people were killed and several others injured after a man attacked a train with a knife Germany today.
Shortly before the arrival of the regional train from Kiel to Hamburg at Brokstedt station, a man attacked the passengers with a knife around 3 p.m. before he was arrested.
The suspect, who was not named by police, started the stabbing just before the train arrived at Brokstedt station near Neumünster, a town in northern Germany. Two people were killed and several others injured in the attack, Bild reports.
The man was arrested at the scene of the crime by police officers who have since closed the station, reports Der Spiegel.
An eyewitness told KN-online that people in his carriage panicked when three girls rushed in and told them there was a man with a knife on the train.
Several ambulances are now on site to treat the injured passengers.
Police did not release information on the suspect’s identity and said his possible motives were being investigated.
