Chris Walker has had some strong support following his split from Carrie Bickmore.

On Saturday, ABC’s Leigh Sales and Carrie’s former The Project co-star Peter Helliar supported the embattled producer in a series of Instagram Stories.

Leigh posed alongside Chris in a photo apparently taken during an outing at a pub with Chris, Peter, comedian Anthony Lehmann and cricketer Adam Gilchrist.

“If you love Hard Chat & The Weekly this guy @chriswalkertv is the Maestro. Legend and a great pal,” she captioned a photo of herself next to Chris.

Peter threw his arm around Chris in a second picture, which Leigh captioned: “Fun being a man of honor for the Arvo with these top guys.”

Carrie announced the couple’s split in an Instagram post on Wednesday morning, saying the couple are focused on raising their three children together. The couple was in a relationship for 11 years.

“It is with great sadness that Chris and I have decided to separate,” she wrote.

“While this is a difficult time, we are focused on raising, loving and supporting our three children, Ollie, Evie and Addie, with everything we have.

“You are doing great, we will not comment further.”

Carrie and Chris’ love story captured the hearts of Australians.

They met as colleagues on The Project — she was a host and he was a producer — and they began dating in late 2012, two years after she lost her husband Greg Lange, the father of her eldest child Ollie, 15, to brain cancer.

Despite his terminal diagnosis, Carrie Langue had married in 2005 when she was just 25 years old.

After Langue died in 2010 at the age of 35, a widowed Carrie founded the charity Bickmore’s Beanies for Brain Cancer in his memory.

Two years later, Carrie had found love again with Walker, who became Oliver’s stepfather and with whom she later had two daughters: Evie, born in 2015, and Adelaide, born in 2018.
