Tata Motors has today launched the CNG version of the Tiago NRG. The Tiago NRG is a crossover version of the Tiago hatchback and Tata Motors has introduced the CNG version in the Tiago NRG following the positive response in the market for Tiago iCNG.

The company has launched the Tiago NRG iCNG today for a starting price of Rs 7.39 lakh. The company is referring to this version as ‘India’s first CNG Toughroader’ which essentially implies crossover. The company has introduced this version of the hatchback in two variants and four colour options, Foresta Green, Fire Red, Polar White, and Cloudy Grey. The bookings for the Tiago NRG iCNG are open and the bookings can be made across all authorised Tata Motors dealerships.

The Tiago NRG iCNG is powered by the 3-cyl 1.2 L Revotron petrol unit that produces 84.82 bhp and 113 nm of torque in the petrol mode but in the CNG mode it produces 72.39 bhp and 95 nm of torque. The Tiago NRG iCNG is only available with manual transmission. It has a ground clearance of 177 mm and gets retuned suspension.

The Tiago BRG iCNG features the new ‘iCNG’ badging, armoured front cladding, infinity black roof with roof rails, muscular tailgate, satin skid plate, squircle wheel arches, and 14-inch Hyperstyle wheels.

The company has stated that the introduction of Tiago NRG iCNG will add to the diversity in Tata Motors product portfolio and at the same time it exhibits the flexibility of the Tiago platform to which has supported with a petrol powertrain, diesel powertrain, crossover platform and also served as an EV with a battery pack and electronic powertrain. Commenting on the occasion, Rajan Amba, Vice President, Sales, Marketing and Customer Care, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd., said, “Since its inception, the Tiago NRG nameplate has received an overwhelming response from our customers. They have been appreciative of its SUV inspired design language, muscular stance, and high ground clearance, cementing its position as the Urban Toughroader”.
