We all have very painful and depressing experiences when it comes to drastic weight gain. But 25-year-old Sara Lockett’s weight gain journey came to an embarrassing halt that changed her life. She was playing in the park with her son when she got stuck in the slide and that’s when she decided to change things and take control of her weight.

Sara, who lives in Washington DC, lost 62 kgs after undergoing a gastric sleeve surgery. Post-recovery, Sara took to her social media handle to share her drastic and jaw-dropping transformation that will leave you amazed and inspired.

Sara took to her Instagram caption to pen down what really went behind the surgery and her decision-making. A part of her note read, “I think a lot of people are surprised at my more raw before pictures but yes I did get that big and I’m giving this vulnerability so others know they don’t have to be ASHAMED or EMBARRASSED. Be you! Own it! I’m not gonna find a picture of me in full face make up and hair done every single time. You’ll see every part. The good, bad, and in between. Almost 10 months post op and here I am back on my path to self love and completely swimming in this dress. Pics on the left – 253lbs, Pics on the right – 128lbs.”

Sara is a mom to a 4-year-old daughter and a 2-year-old son. She had stated that over-eating wasn’t the only case of her being overweight. She also gained weight due to preeclampsia and gestational diabetes. At one point, Sara also found herself consuming 3,000 calories a day.

But in the end, it took one wrong turn on a slide for Sara to change things and become an inspiration.

What is gastric sleeve surgery?

Also known as Bariatric surgery or gastrectomy, this procedure is performed on those who are obese. This procedure includes the removal of a large part of your stomach leaving behind just a narrow ‘sleeve.’ This reduction of the stomach allows you to restrict your calories and hunger pangs. This procedure is primarily suggested to those who are clinically overweight.
