Islamabad: Even as his country fought a dwindling economy, Pakistan Army Chief General Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa’s family became a billionaire within just six years of his tenure in the office. According to the news website – FactFocus, General Bajwa’s family members and relatives multiplied their assets to a whopping 12.7 billion, prompting the government to order a probe into the ‘illegal and unwarranted’ leak of tax records.

The website, which describes itself as a digital media news organization working on ‘data-based investigative stories’, shared the alleged wealth statements of Bajwa and his family members between 2013-2021.
