The Directorate of Information, Public Relations & Languages Department, Govt of Haryana recently announced that schools and other educational institutes will be closed today, November 22. Holiday will be observed in Faridabad, Palwal, Fatehabad and Hisar districts. It has been announced considering that Haryana would be conducting Panchayat Samiti election today.
The official tweet reads, “In view of the elections to be held for the posts of Zilla Parishad and Panchayat Samiti on November 22 and for the post of Panch and Sarpanch on November 25, the state government offices in the jurisdiction of these districts, there will be a public holiday in boards, corporations and educational institutions etc.”

Apart from schools, holiday will be observed in boards, corporations and educational institutions. The official notice by the state government also informs that all the banks, factories, establishments, industrial undertakings, trades and shops falling within the jurisdictions where the poll will be held will observe paid holiday.
Public Holiday to be observed today
As per the notification from Haryana Government, November 22 will be observed as Public Holiday in all offices, Educational and other institutions. Public Holiday will be observed in the jurisdiction of Faridabad, Fatehabad, Hisar and Palwal due to the elections for Members of Zila Parishads and Panchayat Samitis.
To be noted that Friday, November 25 will also be observed as public Holiday in lieu of the ongoing elections in Haryana. Generally, schools and colleges are used as polling booth during elections.
