Petrol, diesel prices on November 22: Fuel prices remain unchanged for six months; check latest rates

New Delhi: Petrol and diesel prices across major metro cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru and Chennai have remained steady for six months in a row. State-run oil marketing companies announced no change in fuel prices even on Tuesday, keeping the fuel prices unchanged for over 180 days now.
Last revision in the prices of petrol and diesel prices was when the Centre reduced the excise duty on fuel in late May. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on May 21 had announced an excise duty cut on petrol by Rs 8 per litre and Rs 6 per litre on diesel in order to give some relief to the consumers.
As per the latest update, petrol price in Delhi on November 22 is Rs 96.72 per litre while diesel is sold at Rs 89.62 per litre. A litre of petrol in Mumbai costs Rs 106.31 while people have to pay Rs 94.27 for a litre of diesel. Petrol in India’s Silicon Valley Bengaluru is priced at Rs 101.94 per litre while diesel costs Rs 87.89.
In Chennai, petrol and diesel are priced at Rs 102.63 and Rs 94.24 per litre respectively. Petrol price in Kolkata is Rs 106.03 per litre and per litre diesel price is Rs 92.76. In Uttar Pradesh’s capital city Lucknow, petrol costs Rs 96.62 per litre and diesel Rs 89.81 per litre.
Oil prices rose slightly in early Asian trade on Tuesday, a day after Saudi Arabia denied a media report that it was discussing an increase in oil supply with OPEC and its allies. OMCs like Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL), Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) update the fuel prices at 6 am daily in line with international benchmark prices.
