Lucknow: Fatehpur SP Rajesh Singh said that they received a complaint of mass conversion and 10 people were arrested in that case. SP Rajesh Singh also stated that strict action will be taken against those who are involved.Earlier, around 14 people were arrested on charges of inducing people from economically weaker sections to convert to Christianity in Uttar Pradesh’s Fatehpur.
The economically weaker sections were offered buffaloes and they were lured with jobs for converting to Christianity. As per reports, school admissions to kids were also offered to poor Hindus in villages of UP’s Fatehpur.

Cops from the Kotwali police station have so far arrested 39 people. SP Rajesh Singh said that eight cases of conversion have been registered in the district.
“In five of these cases, the accused have been arrested and chargesheet has been filed in all the cases. Cops from Kotwali police station have arrested 26 people including the priest in one case and sent them to jail, the remaining 13 arrests have been made in four cases,” the Fatehpur SP added.
Police has issued notices against 42 people and SP Rajesh Singh said that if anyone’s involvement is found in the matter of conversion, strict action will be taken against them.
Taking major action in the matter of mass conversion, till now police have sent three dozen people, including the pastor to jail.
