Mumbai NCB busts international drug trafficking syndicate, seizes consignment of 2.80 kg of cocaine

The bureau gathered intelligence regarding the syndicate. NCB officials acted upon a tip regarding the consignment. It is the second time in a week, that the Mumbai NCB seized drugs and arrested key associates of an international drug trafficking syndicate.

Last week, the Mumbai-NCB seized multiple drugs. In the week-long drive, the bureau seized 1.2 kg of Tramadol, 10.8 kg of Nitrazepam, 19 kg of marijuana, and 1.150 kg of high-grade hydroponic marijuana, reported India Today. An international syndicate had planned to carry out illicit trafficking of Tramadol tablets through courier parcels from Mumbai.

As per reports, these parcels were destined for the United States. NCB officials located the parcel at the courier office on November 10. Upon opening the parcel, they found Tramadol tablets.

On November 11, the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) in Mumbai detained a traveller arriving from Nairobi at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport and confiscated 4.98 kg of heroin from him. The contraband is worth Rs. 35 crores on the international market.
