Alireza Beiranvand failed suffered an injury in the first half against England.He bled profusely and had to be stretchered off.He was replaced by Hossein HosseiniThe FIFA World Cup 2022 is in full swing now, as Day 2 witnessed a solid opening encounter as England thrashed Iran in Group B. However, the first few minutes of the game saw some intense action, as the two teams looked to engage right from the world go. In fact, right in the 8th minute of the encounter a horrific incident occurred that saw Iran goalkeeper Alireza Beiranvand being seriously injured.

In the 8th minute of the game, star striker for England Harry Kane attempted a cross into the Iranian box. To defend the corner, Iranian goalkeeper Alireza Beiranvand and defender Majid Hosseini clashed against each other as they butted heads accidentally in quite an awkward clash. This caused both players to lay down in agony, but the Iran shot stopper looked the most hurt out of the two. After 10 minutes of extensive checks play was allowed to go on.

However, after 30 seconds of play, the match was once again stopped, as Alireza Beiranvand collapsed on the ground as he signalled to his coach to take him off. He was bleeding profusely from his nose, and had to be carried on a stretcher. He had to be substituted as Hossein Hosseini took his place in the team.

However, there was some disconten in the footballing world after the goalkeeper continued to stay on the pitch despite the injury, as many pointed out as to why the Iran medical staff kept the goalkeeper on the field.

Coming back to the game, England absolutely thrashed the Iranians, as they ended their winless run in international football, with a big 6-2 win. Arsenal teenager Bukayo Saka found the net twice, while Jude Bellingham scored his first international goal for England. Raheem Sterling also found the back of the net, as substitutes Marcus Rashford and Jack Grealish too registered their names on the scoresheet.
