Australia have already defeated England in the ODI series

After their humongous win in the T20 World Cup, where England became the first team in history to hold the ODI and T20 World Cups at the same time, the Three Lions stayed back Down Under to take on arch-rivals Australia in a three-match ODI series, as both sides begin their preparation for next year’s ODI World Cup.However, the series hasn’t been one to remember for the Three Lions, as they lost both their opening games and have already conceded defeat in the series with a match to go. In the first match, despite Dawid Malan scoring a century, England could manage to score 287-9, as none of the other batsmen fired. In reply David Warner and Travis Head made a fantastic start to the Australian chase, and Steve Smith finished it, with all three socring half-centuries.In the second game of the series, Australia batted first and managed to scored 280-8, as Seve Smith just missed out on a century with a 94-run knock. He was ably supported by Marnus Labuschagne and Mitchell Marsh, who both registered good half-centuries. In reply, the Australian bowling attack was all over Egland, as they bundled hem out for just 208, coutesy a 4-wicket haul from Mitchell Starc.
Now, the third match is a dead rubber, as England would look for a consolation win while the Aussies will be looking for a statement whitewash of the World Champions.
