Delhi woman was shot dead by her father, as per sources

New Delhi: A woman, whose body was found inside a suitcase near Yamuna Expressway in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh recently, was shot dead by her father over her marriage and lifestyle, said sources on Monday.Aayushi Yadav’s body was found wrapped in a plastic and stuffed inside a suitcase on Yamuna Expressway last week. She was identified as a 21-year-old resident of Delhi’s Badarpur.

Yadav’s father was arrested after the police questioned him when he went to identify the body. Nitish Yadav allegedly shot his daughter dead in anger over her marriage to a man from a different caste and her late night outs.

According to police sources, Aayushi had married a man named Chhatrapal, from another caste, without telling her family. Her parents were angry at what they believed was her defiance and ‘stubborn’ attitude.

After shooting Aayushi with his licensed gun, Nitesh Yadav allegedly packed her body in a suitcase and dumped it in Mathura. Police teams have been deployed to find the weapon used in the murder.

The tragic incident comes just days after Shraddha Walkar’s murder case.

Shraddha’s live in partner, Aftab Amin Poonawalla, allegedly strangled her and chopped her body into 35 pieces. He was arrested on Saturday after Delhi police started probing into a missing complaint filed by Shraddha’s father Vikas Walker. Poonawalla is currently under police custody.
