Apex Legends has some issues with Iron Sights, with new cosmetic skins giving perks to certain weapons. Iron Sights is the term for guns without optics, meaning players aim at the barrel of the gun. This can be tricky to use or difficult to aim at opponents.
Players have complained about certain cosmetics they call Pay-to-Win, like two different skins for VK-47 Flatline rifles. One of them is Heat Sink and Revelations.

But it’s not just about the positive. When it comes to the Revelations skin, the fins on the top of the weapon actually create blind spots and make it difficult to see. All game developers try to balance a weapon’s looks versus its use in combat. If a skin makes the weapon easier or harder to use, then it’s missing its basic purpose.
Respawn will likely take this opportunity to make sure all weapons are like this without a perk. Here are Respawn’s thoughts on the matter.
“We believe that any competitive advantage in Apex Legends should come from improving your skills and not from perceived benefits from purchasing weapon skins. As our good friend Kuben Blisk puts it: “You kill me, you’re better. I’ll kill you, I’m better.” We hope players who own these skins will appreciate these improvements and help us keep Apex Legends fun and fair.”
