Upfronts season is here, with Nine Entertainment Co. set to unveil its 2023 titles on Wednesday.
Nine’s event takes place at 4pm at the Big Top at Luna Park, Sydney –TV Tonight will be Live tweeting announcements.
Nine has had a strong 2022 with hits including Married at First Sight, The Block, Lego Masters and more. There have already been announcements of shows including Grown Up Love presented by Kate Langbroek.
A number of profile shows are yet to screen this year, including Parental Guidance, Buying Byron, meaning they could be pushed to 2023. Love Island is also currently filming in Spain.
There are also rumours a new Reality show called The Money Trail (or possibly known as The Summit) in which strangers are dropped in a rugged NZ mountain wilderness on a quest to claim a life changing cash prize.
Nine also needs to confirm local drama for 2023. Will that be a second season for After the Verdict? Stan drama Bali 2022 is also a Nine co-production meaning it will presumably enjoy a second window on Nine.
Earlier this year Programming director Hamish Turner told TV Tonight a “much-loved franchise” would also be returning to Nine -and that’s yet to happen. It does lead me to wonder if there is anything to be read into former Nine CEO Hugh Marks / Karl Fennessy’s Dreamchaser deal with Posie Graeme-Evans who has a McLeod’s Daughters prequel in development….?
Here’s a guesstimate on where things likely stand with Nine ahead of tomorrow’s showcase…
