Monday Ratings | THE BLOCK-buster win keeps Nine in front

Spread the love

With royal funeral/accession coverage still circling, the late night offers limited choice on FTA.

A Current Affair (650,000) does more good business for Nine before transforming into the The Block (719,000) and again seeing away all comers. Emergency (359,000) isn’t quite as impressive, and then the night splits to either 100% Footy (62,000 BNE SYD) or Footy Classified (108,000 MEL/ADL/PER). Everything comes back together for the late night live coverage of Nine News: HM The King of Scotland (100,000).
Nine first in both primary (21.6%) and network (28.8%) rankings.

Home & Away (522,000) breaks through 500k but is still struggling to permanently do so again, followed by Farmer Wants A Wife (492,000) which is doing reasonable business for Seven – good enough to keep it in second place overall for the slot and the night. Another royal special Young Elizabeth (193,000) then bleeds into a special for The Latest: Seven News (129,000) covering the Queen’s final return to Edinburgh to lie in state.
Seven second in both primary (19.9%) and network (27.7%) rankings.

7:30 (573,000) and Australian Story (543,000) led the night for the ABC and slid into second in primetime. Four Corners (406,000) and Media Watch (370,000) also deliver reasonable audiences (but not as strong as last week), while China Tonight (189,000) and a repeat of Q+A (41,000) charge up the rear.
ABC third in primary (13.3%) and fourth in network (17.9%) rankings.

While The Project (205,000 6:30pm; 318,000 7pm) was indeed broadcast on 10, it’s the first-run numbers for The Amazing Race Australia (353,000) that are concerning. It’s getting a decent nudge in Total TV a week later, though coming off a low base isn’t helping–and Have You Been Paying Attention? (544,000) is suffering for the lead-in. A late evening of comedy follows, with Just For Laughs Australia (220,000) and a repeat of Anne Edmonds: That’s Eddotainment (72,000).
10 fourth in primary (12.2%) and third in network (18.3%) rankings.

Lighthouses: Building the Impossible (135,000) offers incredible architecture on SBS, followed by DNA Family Secrets (113,000) and a repeat of 24 Hours in Emergency (99,000).
SBS fifth in both primary (4.2%) and network (7.3%) rankings.

16-39: The Block (153,000) defeated Have You Been Paying Attention?, Nine News 6:30pm, Seven News 6:30pm, and The Amazing Race Australia.

18-49: Have You Been Paying Attention? (264,000) beat out The Block, Seven News 6:30pm/6pm, and Nine News 6:30pm.
